Revivify London success story: Non-surgical facelift

At Revivify London we believe in evidence based practice, and enjoy sharing our clients’ journeys and stories with their permission.  We hope this can help you understand the different treatments that we offer and how they work, while also shedding some light on the experience at our clinic.

This month we would like to share Mrs M’s journey.

Mrs M is a lovely, joyful lady. When she first met our clinical director, Dr Samizadeh, she complained of looking tired and her face looking older than the age she felt. Mrs M wanted to look fresher, not 10 years younger as she is very comfortable with her age, but was very apprehensive about any medications and products. She feared any treatment would be unnatural or even harmful.

We conducted a holistic and tailored consultation and ascertained exactly how Mrs M was feeling about exploring aesthetic treatments. Mrs M’s main concerns, which are common to those seeking aesthetic treatments, were:

  • she had no knowledge of treatment options
  • she did not know what to expect
  • she was very apprehensive about aesthetic treatments
  • she was worried that treatments would be harmful

During the consultation, Dr Samizadeh gave Mrs M an overview of what happens in the ageing process; how we age from within and from the outside. They explored the importance of lifestyle choices, environmental factors, sun-damage, stress and diet.  Minor dietary changes, such as an increased intake of antioxidants and particular supplements can help slow down ageing and rejuvenate the skin. This combined with natural facial masks and an increased intake of water improves the skin significantly. This is natural and very cost effective.

Non-surgical aesthetic options and treatments were also discussed. Wrinkle reduction methods that are available such as chemical and laser skin resurfacing techniques, botulinum toxin injections and microneedling were discussed. To replace the lost volume in the cheeks and other parts of the face; dermal fillers and surgical options were explored.

The risks and benefits of each option were carefully explained to Mrs M, despite the risk of complications being very low. Our principles and values of transparency and patient-focused service, means any potential complications and how they would be dealt with should they arise are explained. We also believe in making patients aware of services that are not offered at Revivify London but could be of great benefit to them. This enabled Mrs M to make an informed decision including seeking treatment at other practices should she wished.

At the end of the consultation, we encouraged Mrs M to take some time to consider her options, talk to family and friends if she wished, and also to ask us any further questions she may have prior to making a decision.

Treatment options discussed with Mrs M during her consultation:

  • A tailored skin care regime: to improve skin quality, reduce sun damage (pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles) and prevent further damage
  • Micro needling, chemical or laser skin resurfacing: to improve the skin quality and lines and wrinkles
  • Wrinkle reduction injections: to reduce lines and wrinkles that are formed due to hyperactive muscles such as frown lines and crow’s feet
  • Dermal fillers used to replace the lost volume, lift the face, rejuvenate the cheeks, reduce sagging  and improve skin hydration
  • Thread lift: to lift the face and stimulate collagen production
  • Combination treatment: A bespoke treatment plan to target different problems at the same time

The key stages in the treatment cycle (prevention, restoration and correction, beautification, and maintenance) were also explained in depth. These treatments will result in noticeable changes from the first session, but may need a few additional sessions for full rejuvenation and beautification.

Mrs M already had a good skincare regime and opted to have a non-surgical facelift to rejuvenate her face. The non-surgical facelift is a carefully devised technique of placing hyaluronic acid based or bio-stimulating dermal fillers in specific areas of the face affected by the ageing process; requiring precision and accuracy.

In the restoration and correction stage, 4ml of hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers were used in total,  and the full beautification  took place 6 months after the initial treatment. Dermal fillers were used to replace the volume lost in the cheeks and the lower face. The results are expected to last 12-18 months,  and a top up of 1-2ml may be required every 6 months for the maintenance phase.

The before and after photos show fantastic results. Just 3 weeks later, Mrs M’s skin was hydrated, her face was lifted, her nasolabial folds and marionette lines were significantly improved, and any jowling had been reduced. The jawline is tighter, and the overall appearance of the skin looks fresher and rejuvenated.

“I was extremely sceptical but I am thrilled to say that the treatment gave me the confidence and spring in my step I had been lacking. I trust Souphi implicitly, had she not trained as a dentist I do not think I would even have contemplated the treatment, she fully understood that I wanted to look fresher and well, not thirty years younger, I feel she is very knowledgeable and kind.”

We are delighted to have been part of Mrs M’s journey and that she has been extremely satisfied with her results. Mrs M is now a regular in our clinic and we work with her on maintaining her results and continue to  advise her on how to stay looking and feeling rejuvenated.
