Underdeveloped or small chins, or loss of definition due to weight loss or ageing may disturb the harmony of the face and make other parts of the face such as the nose appear out of proportion. Definition and contouring of the chin can be achieved by carefully placed hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers are low allergy, are well tolerated by the body, and can sculpt and define areas of the face, improving the appearance of bone structure and facial balance without the need for surgery.
Hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers last from 12-18 months, and are naturally degraded by the body over time. This non invasive procedure has little downtime, is performed under topical anesthetic and can help avoid the need for surgical interventions such as jaw implants in mild to moderate cases.
How long does the procedure take?
Typically between 60 and 90 minutes including an in depth consultation addressing your needs and concerns and explaining possible side effects.
Is it painful?
The procedure may be a little uncomfortable. We can make this more comfortable by applying topical anesthetic cream before the procedure, or by giving you a numbing injection prior to the procedure. Additionally, the dermal fillers that we use contain Lidocaine which is numbing agent.
Can I see results straight after treatment?
Yes! There may be post-procedural swelling, but this will resolve within 1- 2 weeks
What is the aftercare?
We recommend no application of makeup or creams for at least 6 hours after your treatment but mineral makeup may be applied after the treatment. Ice and arnica cream are recommended for any bruising and the treated areas should not be exposed to extreme heat such as sunbeds or saunas for at least 2 weeks.
