Wrinkle reduction and muscle relaxation injections using Botulinum Toxin A (eg. Botox), have multiple aesthetic uses; from reducing frown lines and crow’s feet, to treating excessive sweating. Ageing, sun exposure, smoking, a stressful lifestyle, and years of facial muscle movement such as laughing and frowning can result in fine lines and wrinkles. We can temporarily, safely and effectively improve these fine lines with muscle relaxing injections, by temporarily weakening the muscles that have caused the wrinkles.Frown lines are a main concern to those undergoing anti ageing treatments, as they can change the overall aesthetic of the face, and can be improved with wrinkle reduction injections in under 30 minutes.
What is the Aftercare?
To optimise the result of your wrinkle reduction injections, you should exercise the facial treatment areas by frowning, smiling, squinting and lifting the eyebrows occasionally before and after the treatment for few hours
• Do not rub or massage the treatment areas
• Alcohol, aspirin and ibuprofen should be avoided before and 24 hours after the treatment as these can increase the risk of bruising and swelling
• Do not lie flat or bend down excessively
• Strenuous physical activity is not advisable for 1-2 days after treatment
How long does it last?
After the injection, the target muscles will relax resulting in the overlying skin becoming smooth in 5-10 days and this result will last 3-4 months
Will it be painful?
We make the procedure comfortable by applying topical anesthetic cream before the procedure.
How important is choosing a qualified Medical Aesthetic practitioner?
One of the primary concerns when considering aesthetic procedures such as anti ageing treatments is ensuring your treatment is undertaken by a trained and experienced healthcare professional. Non-surgical aesthetic procedures such as wrinkle reduction (Botox) injections and dermal fillers are not risk free; sound knowledge and experience is required to ensure that the risks are reduced and the best aesthetic outcome is achieved.
A healthcare professional has extensive training and experience in healthcare, patient care and medical procedures. In addition, they have received training on how to deal with any medical emergencies. Your healthcare professional should also be additionally trained in the treatments they are offering. Similarly, the procedures should always take place in a safe environment where there are appropriate hygiene and clinical protocols implemented to minimise any risks of the procedure.
